                   The Oblates of Mary Immaculate, a Papel Congregation for priests founded by St. Eugene De Mazenod in 1816.

 The Oblates came to India in 1968. The Province was named as St Eugene Province of Mary Immaculate (OMI). The first Oblate mission was at St Thomas Mount, (then Kancheepuram District) now falling under Chennai of Tamil Nadu. At present, this is the Provincial House from where nearby missions are guided.

The Oblates are into various ministries to develop conditions in relation to Health, Education, Livelihoods, Women Empowerment, Development of Civil society, Human rights, youth, prison and hospital chaplaincy, promotion of living in ashrams for meditation and self-realization, Justice and Peace Integration Commission (JPIC ministry), Missionary Associates of Mary  Immaculate (MAMI) an opportunity to collaborate with the with the lay persons to carry out the various ministries of the LORD through the Oblates.
