St. Eugene Niwas

    St. Eugene Niwas, the Oblate Juniorate is located at Namnakala, Ambikapur District. It was established on October 1st, 2015. As the number of vocations increased in northern parts of India the need to establish a Juniorate was felt. As a result, St. Eugene Niwas oblate Juniorate was established. The students get their first-yearinitial formation learning prayers, language, music, sports and other basic skills. They are also exposed to the religious walk of life to discern their vocation. Fr. Bbiyan Francis OMI was the pioneer of the Juniorate. Fr. JermanJesuraj OMI is the Rector and Fr. Clared OMI is the Vice-Rector at present.

St. Joseph’s Novitiate

    The Oblates made their presence in Musunuru since 1984 and in 1987 a presbytery was built in Arpanalayam campus for the Oblates working in MusunuruParish and it served its purpose until 2002. From 2002, it has been converted into a canonical establishment for the Novitiate Formation, as St. Joseph’s Novitiate of St. Eugene Province, India. Fr. Francis Xavier OMI was the first Oblate to be installed as the Novice Master in Indian Oblates’ history. As then existing Novitiate house was not conducive enough for the Novitiate Formation, an additional building was constructed in 2007 to serve the Novitiate Formation. Since its establishment so far 16 Oblates have served in the Novitiate and more than hundred Novices have undergone their Novitiate Formation in this house.
